2025 Supervision Groups
If you are a counsellor or therapist interested in learning more about integrating psychedelics into your practice, I invite you to join our supervision groups. Over this coming year, my goal is to empower therapists to provide clients with the highest standard of care.
We need to understand how to discuss clients’ interests in expanded states and how to address any past experiences they may have had with psychedelics outside of a therapeutic setting. With more therapists obtaining certification in psychedelic therapy, it is crucial for our field to clearly define the legal and ethical implications of discussing or referring clients to these therapies.
In British Columbia, many clients are exploring or currently undergoing ketamine therapy. Additionally, in Canada, various churches have received Health Canada approval for the use of Ayahuasca and Peyote. Clients often seek information about the Health Canada Special Access Program (SAP) or Section 56 exemptions, as well as centers in other countries where psychedelics are legal, such as Peru. We need to recognize the work we can do in this area and know when to refer clients to other specialists or resources.
